Month-end close and practice management for bookkeeping firms, with AI that catches coding errors before the client sees them.

Overview

Double — the platform that shipped as Keeper until October 2025 — is built for the firm, not the business. That distinction is the whole product. It sits on top of QuickBooks or Xero and gives a bookkeeper the layer those systems never had: a client list with close status, uncategorised-transaction chasing, a client-facing question queue that does not live in email, file review, and reporting. The AI does the tedious middle — AI Bank Feeds and AI Transactions propose coding, "Ask Double" answers questions across the ledger, and the review pass flags coding errors, builds schedules, and runs flux analysis. Buy this if you run a bookkeeping practice with more than a handful of clients and your close is currently held together by spreadsheets and Slack. Do not buy it as a small business owner doing your own books — that is what Puzzle or your accountant's stack is for. Pricing is per connected client, so it scales with your book, which is the right shape but makes a quote necessary.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Purpose-built for the firm workflow, not the business owner
  • AI review catches coding errors before the client review call
  • Client question queue replaces chasing answers over email
  • Per-client pricing scales with your book rather than seats
  • Platinum partner in Intuit's App Partner Program

Cons

  • Full rate card is not published — you need a quote
  • Layered on QuickBooks or Xero; it is not a general ledger
  • Wrong product for a business owner doing their own books
  • The Keeper-to-Double rebrand means older reviews and help articles use the old name
  • Value depends on the whole team adopting one close process

Pricing

Not fully published. Accounting firms are billed per connected client on a month-to-month basis with mix-and-match features; the Tax Suite is included with a $200/month annual commitment, and team email is a $10/month per connected mailbox add-on.
