Vertex AI is the Google Cloud end-to-end AI platform: Gemini and a Model Garden of partner and open models, an Agent Builder, RAG tooling, evaluation, and MLOps, all inside the Google Cloud IAM and compliance perimeter. For enterprises already on GCP it consolidates the AI lifecycle in one governed place. The breadth is genuine but also the catch — Vertex is a large surface area, and getting value means investing in the platform rather than treating it as a simple API. Most relevant when GCP is already your home.
